Watch out for MALWARE!!!

Hey folks! Got some very important news! Recently on the Android Market, there have been a few "developers" games that are considered as Malware/Spyware. First of all the app will be installed on your phone and function normally with a sudden "Search Icon" floating around the screen. You can close it by simply tapping on it but again it pops up and the cycle continues. Each time that icon appears it steals whatever info you have just presented to the app and it also takes a look at other data available on the phone such as Browsing History, Favorites etc. Luckily there are no issues involving credit cards and that is a relief! As for how reliable it is, Symantec were the ones to inform Google of this issue. Below are a list of apps currently considered to be Malware. Please at all costs stay away from the following:

  • Counter Elite Force
  • Counter Strike Ground Force
  • CounterStrike Hit Enemy
  • Heart Live Wallpaper
  • Hit Counter Terrorist
  • Stripper Touch girl
  • Balloon Game
  • Deal & Be Millionaire
  • Wild Man
  • Pretty women lingerie puzzle
  • Sexy Girls Photo Game
  • Sexy Girls Puzzle
  • Sexy Women Puzzle
Also any other app made by the following "developers" are considered Malware as well:

iApps7, Ogre Games and redmicapps

In the end...DO NOT install them, and if you already have, UNINSTALL them as soon as possible! Now, if you can't seem to be able to uninstall, simply get an uninstaller app which will force remove it. So, in the end we learned one thing...You can't really escape from Spyware/Malware, just be careful with whatever service you are using such as the Interwebs or your trusty Android Device!

Latest Videos and my ramblings!

Hey folks! Not  much buzz around ICS these days...I am constantly wondering when will I get to have ICS for my device...and there is still no answer. However, my buddy and his Sensation have been tasting a BUNCH of Sandwiches. He has tasted the Vanilla (Stock ICS, AOSP based, Virtuous Inquisition/Quattro) and the one with Sense 3.6 Vanilla plus Chocolate chip (ICS parts and Sense 3.6, Insert Coin, RCMix and Android Revolution HD)!

Anyway, we got 2 videos out this weekend. One is another overview of Android Revolution HD. The version is 6.2.1 and it has some major updates from the previous overview of 6.0.2. So check it out!

Next we have a mini tutorial on How To Flash a Kernel and the phone we used was my LG G2x from T-Mobile, not to get confused with the Optimus 2x.

Hope you liked them! If you did, feel free to subscribe to our Channel :)

LG Quad Core Phone!

Hello peeps! Some crazy rumor or more of leaked news, LG kinda announced their first Quad Core phone to compete with the HTC Edge and Zeta. The date of release is unknown but is expected at the end of Quarter 2 of 2012. Why even install ICS on my G2x which was the first Dual Core phone, I might as well get LG's first Quad Core phone :3

...Let's not get ahead of ourselves! SO the specs are said to be a Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core (duh!) chip clocked at 1.3GHz, 16GB internal storage with micro-SD. Camera stayed as the usual so 8MP with flash for 1080p recording but it will have a 1.3MP front facing camera, which would work beautifully with Face Unlock (Yes, it will be shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich!) It also has a gorgeous 720p display on a 4.7" screen. It will have an NFC chip as well allowing you to enjoy Google Wallet and MasterCard/Visa Pay Pass! LG promises that it will be thin and the battery life will be improved, and that being said, 9mm thick and a 2000mAH Li-Ion Battery :)

This phone is supposedly called the LG X3...but it might change so let's wait until more official news come out before already deciding to buy it...Anyway, that's all the "interesting" news I got for you today, the weekend's tomorrow, we gotta get some videos done :D

Android...Having a Slow 2012 Start

So, we just entered the new year, and CES just ended but still the only MAJOR news that all Android users want to hear is "WHEN AM I GETTING ICS?" ... not anytime soon it seems. Before, I go on, Hello peoples!

Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0.3 has been released for about 3-4 months. Since the release of the Source Code, Developers have been working and trying their best to crack this puzzle of how to port the new OS over. Many phones have already had some Alpha builds, some have progressed to a Beta stage while others haven't even tasted the Sandwich. Team Cyanogen have gotten over 1Million users which is amazing! They promise that all CM7 users WILL definitely get their next version, CyanogenMod 9. They also added a few new devices to the family such as the Amazon Kindle Fire and the HP Touchpad.

Most companies stated that by Q2 of 2012 they will be rolling out the Ice Cream and some other companies say by Q3...which does kinda suck...Thankfully though, Tablets seem to be getting ICS much easier and faster, a few examples are the Asus Transformer Prime as well as the First Gen will get it beginning of Feb and the Motorola Xoom.

I am impatiently waiting for ICS to be ported to all or most devices and I also can't wait for Jelly Bean...I know I know...I'm a greedy person what can I say?

Rumors state that Jelly Bean (not finalized name) contains MASSIVE improvements and actually some of them were previously on ICS but removed because Google is Evil and they want us all to wait even longer. I speak the truth lol

Anyway, since there isn't much news and you might be tired after reading my ramblings...feast your eyes on my latest Boot Animation.

lol if I re-size it, the gif stops working!

New videos out and stuff!

Good Morning peoples! or evening depending on when you are reading this lol

ANYWAYS! Let's get started. This weekend was pretty busy as we installed a new ROM, Android Revolution HD 6.0.2 on the HTC Sensation, made an overview and then did a tutorial on How To Flash an ICS based ROM for the HTC Sensation. Sadly enough, the upload failed at 96% and I had to reupload the video which took an additional 1hr. The ROM we used for the How To, was Virtuous Inquisition 2.0.1. We also had a very quick overview but we weren't able to upload it yet, should be up by tonight though :).

So take a look and tell us what you think! If it helped, please like, comment and/or subscribe to our YouTube Channel and if not, simply post a comment or send us a message and we'll see how we can help you out :)

Android Revolution HD Overview:

How To Install ANY Ice Cream Sandwich ROM:

P.S. We tried filming in HD and the file size was huge! But since this was a crucial video I uploaded it anyway :3

Note: To install any ICS ROM, you need SuperCID as well as the need to update the Firmware. Each developer has his own version so make sure to only use the one specified. Again, DO NOT attempt this if you have not ROOTED your phone. Here's the video's description with all the needed links:

HTC Camcorder Test Video!

Hey peoples! Yesterday was kinda hectic and we were only able to get one video, which was the HTC Sensation Camcorder Test. The ROM that was installed when I filmed was Insert Coin 4.3.0 which also has the latest base of 4.0.3. The Camera is an 8MP with dual LED Flash, capable of filming up to 1080p. However, it seems that the Camera drivers have not fully been optimized for an ICS ROM, nevertheless, we could easily film in QHD. So take a look, like, comment and subscribe for more content. We should have the How To Install Virtuous Inquisition v2.0.1 as well as the Overview video by tonight. Hope you like them!

ENJOY!

Another Quick Update

Hey guys and gals! Just another Boot Animation I created. This one consists of 200 Images, making the animation very fluid. However, no website allows 20MB of gif uploads so I created one online, using simply 10 frames. It does not represent how it actually looks like but I still think that it gives an overall good impression. So here it is!

Also, this weekend we will be pretty busy since we have 3 video requests and we have to make some other videos for all of you. I just hope we can do them without over exhausting ourselves :)

The requests:
  1. Virtuous Inquisition v2.0.1 ROM Overview for the HTC Sensation
  2. How To Install Insert Coin 4.2.2 ROM for the HTC Sensation > Changed to How To Install VI 2.0.1
  3. HTC Sensation running on ICS, Camcorder and Camera test
Again, if possible we will make some other vids too :D

Boot Animations!

Hello Peoples! Today I'm simply making a quick announcement. I've been playing around with Photoshop and I have tried to create a Boot Animation. Thanks to Free Your Android, I was able to understand the basic layout and how to make a simple yet elegant Boot Animation. So I wanted to share it with y'all!

Quick Note, I have a 480x800 Resolution Phone so the animation is solely based for that resolution at the moment :3

Instructions:
  1. You have to be ROOT for this to work.
  2. Download the zip file and place it in your SD Card
  3. Download ROM Toolbox as you need 2 of it's features. First being a Root Browser, cut the bootanimation.zip and paste it in /system/media.
  4. After that go to the third page and open Boot Animations.
  5. Open Menu then click on "Backup" followed by "Restore"
  6. Click "Reboot" and it will load the new Boot Animation.

Hope you like it :D

CES 2012 News Roundup!

It is day 1 of CES 2012 and the BIG companies have just finished displaying and showing off their new technology to be expected for 2012. For the Android OS, there wasn't much news and I found that kind of disappointing judging by the fact how fast the Android OS has been growing over the few years. Anyways, let's get into it!

LG:
So LG had the shortest conference which topped at 45min...Out what they showed, hardly any of them were jaw dropping except the gorgeous 4mm thick, 55" OLED TV and one Android Phone which is the LG Spectrum. The given specs are a 1.5GHz dual-core snapdragon processor, with 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera with 1080p video recording. The screen size is 4.5" and is said to have a True HD IPS display, whatever that is lol. This will be in a 4G LTE version at Verizon, no specified release date. The Spectrum comes with 2.3.5 but will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich soon after release.

Sony:
After having bought Ericsson's shares, 2012 will have Sony Ericsson become Sony Mobile Communications. At CES they introduced their first LTE capable device named the ION. No specs or any other information was given...The CEO also stated that their devices will be more "PlayStation" oriented such as having the PS Suite on all Sony Android Phones. Tablet wise, no new announcements. Lastly they mentioned that their phones will display the True HD Experience.

Samsung:
Being the number one Smartphone sellers in 2011 definitely made Samsung more renowned and improved their  quality of products...I was expecting a lot but Again, not much was announced by them except the more in depth demo on the Galaxy Note. The specs are a 5.3" Super AMOLED HD display, with a dual 1.4GHz Exynos chip and a gig of RAM. It also comes with either 16GB or 32GB storage and of course an 8MP camera with 1080p video. Lastly, it comes with a 256 Level of Pressure Sensitivity Stylus pen which is a nice addition to the device. It will be released on the AT&T LTE network, no date given.

ASUS:
Like I mentioned before, only Asus knows how to pull off a conference. Not only do they come up with awesome innovative devices like the Transformer, they come out with reliable stuff and they also LOVE to listen to consumers. People complain and BAM they fix the problem. First amazing announcement is that the Eee Pad Memo I showed you before...well just say that it will have an NVIDIA TEGRA 3 QUAD CORE CHIP...and to boot this amazingness, it will only cost $249!!! $250 for a 7" with Super IPS HD display, a gig of RAM, 16 or 32GB storage and an 8MP camera with 1080p video...is like a MIRACLE! Props to Asus for such a killer device that won't make our wallets suffer :D

Asus is so busy that after releasing the Transformer Prime...they just announced an Updated Prime model, the TF700T. There are 3 main differences with this one and they are:
  1. A different finish. Instead of Spinned Aluminum, it is now a solid piece of Aluminum with a black bezel on the top. This supposedly will "enhance" WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS functionality.
  2. It has a much nicer resolution, 1920 x 1200 (Beautiful 1080p xD) compared to the 1280 x 800 of the Prime.
  3. Lastly, it has a 2MP front facing camera compared to the 1.3MP of the Prime
Other than that, they are identical specs wise. Also, the TF700T will be compatible with the Prime's keyboard dock.

That's all for today. Couple of more conferences that will be held for the next 4 days, so let's hope we can get some more Android news! Later!

Best HTC Sensation ICS ROM and AirDroid App Review

Hello Folks! We got 2 videos for y'all! One is the best Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the HTC Sensation. Comparing Insert Coin 4.0.8 to RCMix ICE v2.0 and Virtuous Inquisition v1.4.2, personally it seems that the tweaks are better such as better battery life, greater stability and overall smoothness of the UI. So take a look at our Overview.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next is an AMAZING App, which allows a User to wirelessly control their Android Device. This does not act as a virtual environment, AirDroid has it's own UI and it is viewed on your PC's Browser. It is still in a Beta stage but does a pretty damn good job. It has some phone functions such as viewing and sending Text messages, checking your Call Log and Contacts info. But at the same time you are able to Download and Upload any file content at blazing speeds. An example would be, just say you just got 1 new song and don't want to connect your phone via USB, all you have to do is connect to WiFi, tap on the App, Login using your Browser and Upload that one song. Similarly if you took a picture and wanted to have it on your PC, simply Export it to the PC. Take a look on How it Works!

allaboutasus

So, there has been a lot of buzz around Asus recently. That being said, the main cause of this was because Asus decided to completely lock it's Transformer Prime's Bootloader...and not simply locking it...they used a 128bit AES, Advanced Encryption Standard code to lock it down. Now this makes it very near to impossibility to Root your awesome tablet. Now, luckily the INTERNET was around and a multitude of petition signing forms were made and a good hundred thousandfold of people spammed Asus' email and Facebook to ask them to not lock down the Prime's bootloader. And in the end, Asus agreed to the online Android community and will provide a tool to unlock the bootloader! Yay!

Here is the Official Asus Statement from their Facebook page:
"Regarding the bootloader, the reason we chose to lock it is due to content providers' requirement for DRM client devices to be as secure as possible. ASUS supports Google DRM in order to provide users with a high quality video rental experience. Also, based on our experience, users who choose to root their devices risk breaking the system completely. However, we know there is demand in the modding community to have an unlocked bootloader. Therefore, ASUS is developing an unlock tool for that community. Please do note that if you choose to unlock your device, the ASUS warranty will be void, and Google video rental will also be unavailable because the device will be no longer protected by security mechanism."

Last Asus announcement is that they will be releasing an Over The Air update of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Prime and the date chosen is the 12th of Jan 2012, so don't forget to upgrade :D

CES 2012 Spoiler?

First 2012 post and...Hello there! It seems Asus does not want to stop creating more and more amazing products. From Engadget, the new Asus Eee Memo Pad's first picture has been leaked. Now we will obviously get a better look at CES but for now, it is still drool worthy. The most anticipated Asus device was the Transformer Prime and after the immense craze, the next device that people were eagerly waiting for was the Padfone which should be unveiled as CES as well. However a new device has entered the competition and it looks pretty sweet so far. Of course take the specifications with a grain of salt. Supposedly it will have a 1.2GHz Qualcomm's Snapdragon Processor and will have a storage capacity between 16GB to 64GB, quite a lot of choice there. Also it has a 7" screen with an amazing resolution of 1280 x 800 which is pretty damn close to 720p. Well, let's hope for the best and I will keep you updated on CES 2012!

Asus Padfone 2nd Post (Updated Specs)
